Historical Society investigates local genealogy
Nov 9, 2010
The Wareham Historical Society will host "History through Genealogy - The People of Wareham," on Monday, November 15 at 7 p.m. in the Old Methodist Meeting House.
Presenter September McCarthy will introduce attendees to the people behind the names that residents hear and see every day - Fearing, Besse, Bumpus, Burgess, Tobey, and many others - revealing how the history of the town is combined with the history of families through the study of genealogy.
The true stories of events, such as the 1814 British attack on Wareham, will be revealed.
Members are admitted for free, tickets for guests cost $2.
