Wareham Tiger Cheerleaders head to regional championships
The Wareham Tiger's A Squad Cheerleaders are on to the next round.
The team earned a high enough score at the New England Qualifiers held on Saturday, November 6 in Springfield, to move on to the New England Cheer Competition. That competition will be held this weekend in Worcester at the DCU Center.
"It has been a long time since a cheerleading squad from Wareham has made it this far," said parent Jen Jensen. "The cheerleaders couldn't be more excited and proud of their accomplishments."
The competition season began on October 23, when the team placed second in the Hockomock League Cheer Competition. If the team places in the Regional Competition this weekend, they will advance to the National Cheer Competition in Orlando, FL as representatives of New England.
The team's head coach is Patsy Tobey, and she is assisted by Wanda Johnson. Parents Jana McDuffy, Jen Jensen, and Charlene Pardi assisted the squad and coaches this season.
