Village Association hosts Christmas on Main St. this Saturday
The Wareham Village Association will host the 15th Annual Christmas on Main Street, Elm Street, and Tihonet Village this Saturday, December 11.
Look for holiday-themed icons to guide your way to events.
“Toe Jam the Puppet Band” will kick the event off at Piper Beau’s, 207 Main St., with a performance from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. After, open a treasure chest and pick up a Scavenger Hunt map to lead you to an ornament.
Local business-members will also be hosting fun, free Christmas activities, and serving refreshments.
Santa Frankenstein and his Hot Dog Elf will be serving cookies at Frankenstein’s Hot Dogs and More, 208 Rear Main St., as well as holding a coloring contest. The winner will take home a $10 gift card.
Enjoy music with pianist Flo Byron and saxophonist Amanda Hayden at Eastern Bank. Have some cookies and cocoa and get your face painted while you listen to the tunes.
TD Bank will help children write letters to Santa, which can then be delivered at the U.S. Post Office. Sovereign Bank will host crafts for kids, and the Elf on the Shelf at The Old Company Store on Elm Street will help children color good-deed badges.
Tihonet Village Market, Gallery Consignment Shoppe, and Sail Away Studio will also be offering free treats.
The Christmas Parade starts at 3:30 p.m. Participants can line-up on Merchant’s Way, march down Main Street, and up Chapel Street to Town Hall.
Biff Goyette of the Mill Pond Diner will provide hot chocolate and cookies for parade participants.
New this year, join the Village Association for a Tree Blessing and Lighting Ceremony and to sing Christmas carols. The tree has been donated by the A.D. Makepeace Company, and sits outside Town Hall.
To participate in the parade, download an application at warehamvillageassociation.com, or call 295-7870.
The Christmas on Main Street rain date will be Saturday, December 18.
