BOURNE – A 74-year-old Wareham man suffered minor injuries after rolling over his vehicle in the middle of the Bourne rotary early Friday morning and the driver has been transported to Tobey Hospital, according to reports based on a statement from the Massachusetts State Police.

According to State Police spokesman David Procopio, a trooper stationed at the front desk of the State Police barracks saw the accident at around 3:30 a.m. on Friday. The trooper sent a patrol cruiser to the scene.

A 2012 Nissan Pathfinder had entered the rotary after coming off the Bourne Bridge, continued into the island of the rotary, and rolled over, according to Procopio.

The driver was trapped in the car but conscious and alert when Bourne firefighters extricated him. He was taken to Tobey Hospital, and will be cited for operating with a suspended license and a marked lines violation, Procopio said.
