Susan M. (Simmons) Miller, 75
Susan M. (Simmons) Miller, 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 28 at her home in Wareham with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Joe P. Miller.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Stanley & Methyl Doris (Caswell) Simmons. During her almost 50-year marriage to Joe, she lived around the world, including Colorado, Alaska, Texas and Germany before moving to Wareham in 1983.
Susan was an accomplished artist who loved painting in oils and acrylic media. She taught lessons at her studio and at the Wareham Adult Education Program. Sue was a member and former President of the Yankee Heritage Tole Chapter and a member of the National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters. In 1997, she achieved the title of Certified Decorative Artist.
She is survived by her son, David P. Miller, of Walpole; her daughters, Leslie S. Miller, of Hopkinton, Angela G. Miller and Ericka J. Perry, both of West Wareham; her grandchildren, Hannah S.P. Miller and Danielle G. Perry; her brother, Leavitt C. Simmons of Lakeville; and sister, Betty-Joyce Glynn, of Brockton. She was the sister of the late Frederick E. Simmons, Herbert S. Simmons and Harriett Simmons.
Her funeral service will be held on Wed., Nov. 4 at the Church in the Pines, 17 Carver Road at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Tuesday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28) from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. At Susan’s request, please wear bright and cheerful clothing at her services.
