Arlene M. (Ness) Holt, 87, of East Wareham, died Nov. 12 in the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Forestview. She was the widow of the late Richard L. Holt and the daughter of the late Herbert and Viola (Evans) Ness.

She was born in Brockton and lived in East Wareham for 30 years.

Mrs. Holt worked as an LPN for many years at Woodbridge Nursing Home in Brockton.

Mrs. Holt was a member of the White Island Shores Community Association and YMCA. She loved spending time with family and friends and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her sons, Bruce Holt and his wife Christine, of New Hampton, New York, Lewis Holt and his wife Vicki, of Hopkinton and Douglas Holt and his wife Connie, of Union Hall, Virginia; four grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Casey and Christopher; her sisters, Pat Ness, of East Wareham and Beverly King, of Bridgewater; and many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Herb Ness.

Her funeral service was held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
