Ho-hos and choo-choos on Main Street
Santa’s coming to town – perhaps by boat, definitely to ride in a fire truck, and definitely to pose for photos with young believers after a Jingle Bell Train Ride.
The Wareham Village Association on Tuesday received permission from Selectmen to use town roads and the downtown train depot for two Christmas events.
On Dec. 5, a Christmas parade will march from Besse Park to the Town Green, beginning at 2 p.m.
According to Association Vice President Tracy McGraw, “Santa Claus may even be coming by boat” to take his position on a fire engine in the parade.
On Dec. 15, the Village Association’s Jingle Bell Train Ride will leave the train depot on Merchants Way behind Main Street for a 45 minute holiday excursion ending back on Merchants Way.
Following the ride, Santa will be available for photos at the fire station on Main Street, and Eastern Bank will open its door for refreshments accompanied by piano music.
