Wareham’s Veterans Council has a new member.

On Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Selectmen, Joseph “Skip” Sarnelli was welcomed to the Council after attending several previous meetings, according to chair Bob White.

Sarnelli is a Vietnam War Veteran who resides in Wareham.

“It’s a pleasure to introduce Skip Sarnelli,” said White. “He’s been a valuable contributor to our discussions. We’re glad to have him on the council.”

The Veterans Council in Wareham is responsible for planning and organizing the annual Veterans’ Day Parade and ceremonies, as well as providing support for and organizing other events involving the town’s veterans.

Members of the board thanked Sarnelli for his service.
