A Winter Wonderland at Wareham Crossing
Wareham Crossing was a holiday extravaganza for kids and adults alike Saturday, during the shopping mall's Winter Wonderland event.
Performer Jay Brunelle bantered back and forth with kids from up on his stilts as he made balloon animals. The former America’s Got Talent contestant playfully told inquisitive kids “I’m tall because I do my stretches.”
Over at Elements gym, there was more grown-up entertainment to partake in. Free massages and free Zumba and belly-dancing classes were offered.
Elements was also one of many businesses collecting toys for the Dick Melloni Youth Foundation Toy Drive. According to employee Molly Blunket “our boxes are already really full” of toys.
At Lowe's, a line of children, excited with anticipation, waited in line to sit on Santa’s lap, some standing on their tip-toes to try and catch a glance of the man in the red suit. As he waited for his turn, Ryan Hammond said he was going to ask Santa for a “light tunnel” to go with his Thomas the Tank Engine trains.
Children could also write letters to Santa at Lowe's. Renee Moore sat with her three nieces as they composed their letters. Moore pointed out that the Winter Wonderland party was fun for the kids and “It was also a great shopping day…nice and sunny,” said Moore.
The event drew many shoppers who were eager to kill two birds with one stone: entertain the kids, and shop for the kids!
