Isaac Ashburn, 80
Isaac Kenneth Ashburn, 80, of East Wareham passed away Sunday, May 15 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River with his wife Nancy and his three children at his side.
Ken was born in Clarkrange, Tennessee, the son of Bernice (Franklin) Ashburn Young and the late Elmer Ashburn. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and many years in the National Guard at Otis Air Force Base.
Ken enjoyed sports, being in the woods, playing card games, attending family reunions in Tennessee and soaking up the sun at his winter home in Englewood, Florida. He thoroughly enjoyed life!
Ken was the owner of Chipaway Corporation, a member of Ocean Spray Cranberries. He was a member of many clubs and for years served as a call forest firefighter for the town of Wareham.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Bryant) Ashburn of East Wareham; his mother, Bernice Ashburn Young of Rockwood, Tennessee; his three children, Elizabeth Bacchiocchi (Gary), Jeffrey Ashburn (Jeanne) and Timothy Ashburn (friend Renee). Ken so loved his seven grandchildren: Timothy, Crystal, Robert, Dylan, Connor and Mason Ashburn and Samuel Bacchiocchi and his two great grandchildren, Dakota and Logan.
Ken was the brother of Lola Hall and Barbara Criswell (Gene) of Muncie, Indiana, Elmer Ashburn (Charlene) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Peggy Young (Ron) of Piedmont, South Carolina. He was the brother-in-law of Don Bryant, Flat Rock, North Carolina. Two brothers, Ezra and Robert Ashburn predeceased him.
Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, May 23 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 6 Rogers Ave., Wareham at 11 a.m.
