Jan 17, 2011

Lucille Emily (Kessler) Einsmann, 98, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of Millis, MA, Dunnellon, FL and Manhattan, NY, passed away at home Tuesday January 11, 2011, with her family and pet, Ginger, at her side.

She was the wife of the late Francis Xaviar Einsmann, to whom she was married 53 years.

Lucille was born on January 15, 1912 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Albert and Lucy (Berge) Kessler. She attended public schools there and graduated from Julia Richmond High School and lived on Long Island prior to moving to New England.

She worked many years for Mr. & Mrs. Gordon and Marie Crothers, as their personal Executive Chef in Islip, NY and Medfield, MA. Lucille was also known for her work as “Rosie the Riveter” at Republic Aircraft on Long Island. She was the only left handed riveter, and on May 10, 2007, her team was honored by the State of New York for their war efforts.

She was known as “Darling,” but most times called “Beanie” by her large family. She enjoyed gardening in sunny Florida & Buzzards Bay, playing Pinochle and boating with her sons. Beanie, always ready for a new adventure, will long be remembered for her happiness, zest for life, shear grit, determination, and the five families of five living generations during her lifetime.

She is survived by her five children, Francis G. Einsmann of Dunnellon, FL, Patricia A. Moore of Buzzards Bay, MA, Marion E. Keith of Hollis, NH, Lucy E. DesRoches of Mont Vernon, NH, and Christian M. Einsmann of the Florida Keys. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends. She is the sister of the late Richard Kessler and Marion Eadie.
