Jun 30, 2016

The Bourne-Wareham Kiwanis Club recently held a recognition dinner for two Wareham High School scholarship recipients.

Both were recognized for their support of community service activities through the high school Key Club.

Bill Jenkins, the treasurer of the Bourne-Wareham Kiwanis and the governor-elect for the New England and Bermuda District, presented Zariah Lima with the Wareham High Key Club Scholarship.

Lima was the charter president for the Key Club and was instrumental in establishing this community service based club at the high school.

Lisa Simmons, the president of the local Kiwanis chapter and lieutenant governor-elect of the local Kiwanis division then presented Alex Atkinson the James Franklin III Kiwanis Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship was recently created in memory of Franklin, a former Kiwanian who served for years with the club at many events that raised funds for and assisted community members.
