Eastern Bank Manager Rose Berry presented a $10,000 check to Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Shaver-Hood on Thursday afternoon for the Beyond School Time and Family Engagement Program.

When asked what the money will be used for, Shaver-Hood said, "It will be for the students."

With fifteen different programs that make up the entire Beyond School Time program, students from kindergarten to high school will be affected by the contribution.

Some initiatives include expanding community cafes held for grandparents, parents and guardians; supporting a program that brings food to individuals over the weekend; the summer CARE program which offers classes on Robotics, Marine Science, Environmental Art, Wood Shop, Math, Origami, Drama and more; and family field trips.

Shaver-Hood expressed her gratitude toward Eastern Bank for continually supporting the schools.

"Eastern Bank has been a very supportive part of our schools... This just helps up carry on our mission to help kids."
