Volunteers needed for Scallop Fest

Jul 3, 2016

Volunteers are needed to help run the 47th Annual Scallop Festival – scheduled to take place Sept. 23-25 at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth.

Five-hour shifts are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for servers, hospitality hosts, bus greeters, runners, and more.  Busy workplace in a festive environment with designated volunteer parking close to check-in tent!

Experience: Not necessary but community spirit a must.

Compensation: Lots of laughs, free volunteer T-shirt and free admission into the Fest.  Also receive a free Volunteer Appreciation Swag Bag, and a discounted scallop or chicken dinner for only $9.

“We need 500 volunteers to make the Scallop Fest work,” said Marie Oliva, President and CEO of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce. “The only requirement is giving your time to the community while having fun.”

Oliva said that the Scallop Fest is looking for first-time volunteers to supplement the individuals and company teams that return year after year. “Working at the Scallop Fest is a great team-building experience; that’s why so many companies recruit their workers to help.”

How to Apply:  Individuals and company teams welcome.   Download volunteer forms at www.capecodscallopfest.com/volunteers or contact Adele at Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, info@capecodcanalchamber.org or 508 759-6000 x10 to have a volunteer form mailed, faxed, or emailed to you.
