Margaret M. “Peg” Schultz, 89
Margaret M. “Peg” (Walsh) Schultz, 89, of West Wareham, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on January 18, 2011 at Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. Peg was the widow of the late Ralph J. Schultz and the daughter of the late Patrick and Barbara (McDonough) Walsh.
Peg was born in Boston and lived in Dorchester, Mattapan, and Quincy before moving in her later years to West Wareham. An avid reader, Peg was also a proud graduate of Dorchester High School.
Peg truly loved the time she spent working as a Pharmacist Assistant at Carney Hospital, where she made many treasured friends, and from where she finally retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include her son, Paul Schultz and his wife Pamela J. of Naples, FL; her sister, Catherine Glennon of Wareham; a brother, Joseph Walsh of Norton; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Her son, Kevin J. Schultz of Norwood, and two sisters, Anne Clark of Quincy and Barbara Walsh of Dorchester, and two great-granddaughters, Lily and Chloe Schultz all predeceased her.
Peg will be cherished and remembered for her winning smile, her razor-quick wit, and her unwavering loyalty to her family and friends. She was always at her happiest when holding one of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her bright sense of humor will be sorely missed. Her spunky voice on the other end of the phone, providing an endless supply of “Nana-advice” will be forever remembered and treasured by those she left behind.
Peg’s funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 in St. Mary’s Church, Onset. Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley St., W. Bridgewater, MA 02379. For directions and online guestbook, visit: www.ccgfuneralhome.com.
