Now in its fifth year, the Music from Land’s End concert series will weave contemporary pop masterpieces from the Fab Four alongside works from classical composers such as Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert and Mozart.

“We’re incorporating Beatles songs in the second half of one of our concerts,” said Ariadne Daskalakis, the series’ artistic director. “The idea isn’t to contrast pop and classical music, but show that high quality music from any era can share a stage.”

A longtime Wareham summer resident, Daskalakis is a professor at the Cologne University of Music in Germany. She’s a critically acclaimed violinist who has performed across the globe. She launched the Music from Land’s End series to bring world class chamber music to the area.

“With the concert series, I feel like it’s Thanksgiving in July,” she said how residents have embraced the shows. “I’m so grateful for the response we’ve had in the community. It’s what encouraged us to grow step-by-step.”

New this year, the series has expanded with a concert in New Bedford in addition to Wareham and Marion performances.

As always, there’s a philanthropic aspect to the series, proceeds from select concerts will be donated to the Church of the Good Shepherd’s food pantry, the Wareham Free Library and New Bedford Symphony Orchestra’s education outreach program.

The festival begins July 23 at 8 p.m. with a concert in the Marion Music Hall. Following concerts take place: July 24 at 5 p.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, July 30 in the Church of the Good Shepherd at 8 p.m. and July 31 at 5 p.m. in the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
