Robert Kuklinski, 68
Robert S. Kuklinski, 68, of Wareham died July 25 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.
Born in Bayonne, New Jersey he was the son of the late Edward J. and Helen (Kucharski) Kuklinski. Robert moved to Natick in the late 1970s and to Wareham in 1981. He worked in the maintenance department for the U.S. Postal Service in Providence, Rhode Island retiring in 2010. Robert was also a contractor and owned and operated Kuklinski Contracting.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Dudley Brown V.F.W. Post in Onset. Robert cared deeply about supporting his fellow veterans. He generated this same attention to promoting sports for children and was known to take an active stance through coaching and attendance at games. Robert was an avid fisherman who loved nature, and shared his tales with kindergarteners and adults alike. He appreciated sports and competition, and was an active member at The Bay Pointe Club in Wareham. He lived with enthusiasm and took a sincere interest in the community and the world around him.
Robert is survived by his sons, Nicolas D. Kuklinski, Jacob A. Kuklinski and Eric A. Kuklinski all of Wareham; his daughter, Rebecca A. Kuklinski of Wareham; his sisters, Elena Solomon of Hudson and Roseanne DeVane of Oak Ridge, New Jersey; his brothers, James Kuklinski of Bayonne, New Jersey and Edward Kuklinski of Harrison, Maine. Also surviving are his six grandchildren, who are each from Wareham as well. He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Gerald and Thomas Kuklinski. Robert leaves a host of close friends as well as acquaintances who loved him dearly, and whose lives he touched in many ways.
