Frank Rose, 83, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his home in Onset after a long illness. He was the husband of Willie P. (Randell) Rose.

Born in Bayview Park, Onset, he was the son of the late Manuel and Annie G. Rose. He attended the Oak Grove School. In 1953, Mr. Rose joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War in Germany with the 115th Artillery Unit. Upon his discharge from active duty, he continued his service in the Army Reserves for another 6 years.

Frank lived in Boston for many years and worked as a laborer for Merit Construction Co. and Dimascia Brothers. In 1976, he returned to Onset to live and raise his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Willie Pearl Rose; his daughters and sons in-law, Deanna Rose Figueroa (Carlos) of Nashua, NH, Danielle Rose-Moore (Martin) of Boston and Deidra Gabriel (Rainer) of Los Angeles, CA; his sister, Fena Bowden of Dorchester; his grandchildren, Marcus, Ryan and Kyle Figueroa of Nashua, NH, Courtney Thompson of Manhattan, NY, Khia Thompson of Seattle, WA, Niklas Gabriel of Bourne, Paige Gabriel of Philadelphia, PA and Carlos Curry of Boston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, the late Manuel Rose, Jr; and his step-sisters, Lillian Frances, Margaret Cribs, Josephine Salesman and Mary E. Sealey.

His funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway on Fri., Sept.9, 2016 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Onset Ave. at 10 a.m..
