Buzzards Play Productions' Acting Workshops presents the One-Act play, 'Trifles'

Sep 13, 2016

Buzzards Play Productions, Inc. presents the one-act murder mystery, “Trifles” at the theatre at 3065 Cranberry Highway, on Sept. 30, Oct.1, 7 and 8 at 8 p.m.

There will be two Sunday performances, Oct. 2 and 9th at 2 p.m.

The director and some of the actors will conduct a Q & A about the play and the workshop after each performance.

The one-act play “Trifles” was written exactly 100 years old by Pulitzer Prize winning author, Susan Glaspell, a contemporary of Eugene O’Neil. The play was first performed by the Provincetown Players at the Wharf Theatre, Provincetown, Mass., August 8, 1916. Its themes include guilt, innocence and just punishment.

This play has been developed through Buzzards Play Productions’ Acting Workshop focusing on the relationships of the characters: those who appear and those who are never seen.

The Acting Workshop was initiated in April of this year. Classes are on-going and are held on Sunday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. BPP hopes to build a pool of actors through an acting method modeled on the famous Actors’ Studio in New York City. Classes are free. For information on classes and “Trifles” call 508-591- 3065., e-mail buzzplayprod@gmail.com or friend us on Facebook and Twitter.

Tickets for “Trifles” are $10.00 at the box office. The doors and concession open at 7:30 p.m.
