Vikings beat Bourne 26-8 on Thanksgiving
The Vikings ended a terrific season with a 26-8 win over neighboring rivals Bourne on Thanksgiving Day.
The season was the first for Head Coach Bob Lomp who helped lead the team to an 8-3 record, a big turn around from last year’s record where the team had 4 wins and 7 losses.
On Thursday, Bourne stayed close until the middle of the third quarter when the Canalmen fumbled, setting the stage for a successful Viking drive.
With the Vikings already ahead 14-8, junior running back Isaac Nascimento ran in a touchdown to put Wareham up 20-8. At the start of the fourth quarter, senior running back Jordan Phillips ran in a 3-yard touchdown to make it 26-8.
This year, the Vikings earned a piece of the South Coast Conference/Small School Division championship after defeating Case High School 18-15 in late October.
