Entry-level Civil Service examinations will take place Saturday, April 30 for police officers (cities and towns) and Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority transit police officers, State Representative Susan Williams Gifford (R-Wareham) and the Massachusetts Human Resource Division announced.

The final filing date for the exam is April 1. A $50 processing fee for applications received between March 15 and April 1 will be added.

The Human Resource Division is responsible for the administration of these state-wide entry-level exams. The lists that will result from these examinations will determine the pool of applicants eligible for appointment to police positions in cities and towns covered by the Civil Service statute.

“It is important and time sensitive that if anybody is interested in taking these exams that they get the applications filled out and sent back so that they do not miss this opportunity,” Gifford said.
