Route 25 rollover critically injures 1

Dec 6, 2016

Icy roads on Tuesday morning may be to blame for numerous car crashes, including a rollover that happened on Route 25 eastbound.

State Police are investigating that crash, which ended with serious injuries. According to State Police, the driver was taken to Tobey Hospital and then flown to Boston in critical condition.

A burst of snow slowed morning commutes across the state for many on Monday morning while freezing temperatures and rain hit the South Coast last night.

Wareham Police Chief Kevin Walsh said his officers responded to one accident on Tuesday at about 7 a.m. on Sandwich Road. A vehicle rolled onto its side and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

Walsh urged drivers to take caution this winter.

"With the winter months upon us, we unfortunately expect to respond to accidents involving road conditions," said Walsh.
