Registration open for Wareham at Night courses
Registration is now open for Wareham at Night, a series of adult enrichment classes that will teach a variety of skills offered by the Office of Beyond School Time.
Registration will be held now until Feb. 6. Register by mail or in person at the Multi-Service Center, 48 Marion Road, Room 227, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pay by check, money order or cash. Make checks payable to: Wareham Public Schools. Mail checks to: Wareham Public Schools, Office of Beyond School Time, Adult Evening classes, 48 Marion Road, Wareham, MA 02571. Attention: Jane Fondulis.
The Office of Beyond School Time reserves the right to cancel any course due to low enrollment. Any books or supplies required for any of the classes will be included in the course tuition unless noted otherwise. Participants must be 16 or older to enroll. Owning a Home in Today’s Market
This course is designed to provide information to help in building a good credit profile. The course will guide students through the home ownership process, covering goals, basic finances, credit reporting and home buying versus renting. Instructor: Geoff Worrell, Franklin American Mortgage Company.
Class dates: March 14, 21, 28 and April 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost: $20.
Sign Language
In this class students will learn to communicate with their hands. American Sign Language instruction will cover manual alphabet, numbers, vocabulary and simple sentences. Instructor: Diane Hough.
Class dates: March 15, 22, 29 and April 5, 12, 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Cost: $60.
Mind, Body and Soul
Learn movements to stimulate brain function, heighten mindfulness and reduce stress. Wake up the brain to promote focus and awareness. Instructor: Nichole Stahmer.
Class dates: March 15, 22, 29; April 5, 12, 26 and May 3, 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. Cost: $50.
Scrapbooking
Learn the basics of scrapbooking with tips on getting the most out of your paper and adding embellishments to make a statement. Tuition covers cost of supplies and instruction. By the end of the course, you will have completed 10, 12x12 pages for an album. Instructor: Ilona Campinha.
Class dates: March 15, 22, 29 and April 5, 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. Cost: $45.
Shabby Chic
Try your hand at a four week workshop where you will learn to create your very own watercolor inspirational signs, wooden pallet décor, inspirational chalkboard quotes and more. The items you make will adorn your walls, shelves, and desks, inspiring you and others for years to come. Instructor: Michelle Stratton.
Class dates: March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. Cost: $40.
Cupcake Decorating
Learn the art of cupcake decorating and icing techniques. This class meets once per month for four months. The February class will have a Valentine’s Day focus. Instructor: Nicole Raksoki-Calvin.
Class dates: Feb. 9, March 9, April 13 and May 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Cost: $40.
