Safe Harbor buys Onset Bay Marina's parent company
Brewer Onset Bay Marina is now one of 63 properties owned by Safe Harbor Marinas, the world’s largest owner and operator of marinas, following the company’s purchase of Onset Bay’s parent company, the Brewer Yacht Yard Group.
The sale was announced on Jan. 23 and occurred just 13 months after Brewer purchased Onset Bay Marina alongside Green Harbor Marina, located in Green Harbor, Massachusetts.
Brewer Yacht Yards Vice President James Phyfe stressed that Onset Bay Marina customers would see few changes.
“We’ve been thrilled with the property,” said Phyfe. “We know there has been some deferred investment in the property, and we’re making progress in bringing it up to our standards. We couldn’t be happier with the management team. Onset Bay has a bright future.”
Founded in 1954, Brewer Yacht Yard Group owns 25 marinas between Maryland and Massachusetts. Brewer Onset Bay Marina is a full-service facility offering slips, 34 moorings, racks/valet, storage, and transient service.
The Brewer transaction follows Safe Harbor's recent acquisition of two large marinas located in South Florida, Burnt Store Marina and Cape Harbor Marina, which the company purchased in early January.
