Carolees Comedy Corner show set for May 20
Carolee Nelson Salerno, comedy impresario, will perform on May 20 at Buzzards Play Productions, Inc., 3065 Cranberry Highway, starting at 9 p.m.
Appearing alongside Salerno will be Nikki Carr, featured comic Jonathan Tillson and in the guest spot, Liani Perez. Chris Tabb will entertain with his own brand of stand-up as the master of ceremonies.
Carr makes her home in the Bronx. She began her career at age 34 at the New York Comedy Club. In 2014, she made it to the finals in the Last Comic Standing. In that same year she was featured at the Black Enterprise Golf and Tennis Challenge. Carr has appeared on BET’s Comic View and has appeared in independent films: Golddigger Killer and Change the Game.
Jonathan Tillson grew up near Boston where he developed a strong aversion to social norms and mainstream traditions. He has performed in cities up and down the East Coast and appears regularly at RI Comedy Connection and Comix Mohegan Sun. He’s opened for numerous national headliners including Bobcat Goldthwait, Josh Wolfe, Mark Normand and Nick Dipaolo. Tackling topics from the mundane to the absurd with dark twists and aloof charm, his style has been called smart, witty and stimulating.
In the guest spot is comedienne, Liani Perez, better known as Liani Luisa Perez, has been a regular at Boneyard Barbecue and Saloon in Warwick, Rhode Island under the banner, Liani’s Comedy Hour. Her comedy focuses on a commentary on modern life.
General admission is $15. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. A beer and wine cash bar will be available for those who are 21 years plus. Soft drinks and snacks are also available. For information and reservation call 508-942-3917.
