Moving Wall efforts receive $2,500 boost from Rockland Trust
The Friends of the Wareham Veterans Council, Inc. are now $2,500 closer to bringing a replica of Washington D.C.'s Vietnam War Memorial to town this August.
On Tuesday, council members accepted the donation on behalf of Rockland Trust. The bank's East Wareham branch manager and Vice President Gayle Lee presented the money on behalf of the bank.
“We are proud to be part of this awesome event, which will pay tribute to those who served and made a sacrifice for our country,” said Lee.
Council President Jean Sarnelli and Ilene Klavner were on hand to receive the check. Both said the friends were extremely grateful for the donation. The friends need to raise $49,000 to bring the memorial to Wareham.
