Suspicious person report leads to marijuana bust
Wareham Police seized approximately 3 pounds of marijuana from a New Hampshire man after Pond Edge Trail residents reported a suspicious person in the area on May 22.
Eric Gilston, 29, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was arrested just after 10 p.m. charged with possession of a Class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute after officers said they noticed a clear plastic bag containing the drug on the passenger side floor of his car. Sergeant Peter Flannery and Officer John Iacobucci made the arrest.
Police said further investigation led to the discovery of a second bag of marijuana in the car’s trunk. Sheets of paper tallying drug transactions, along with empty vacuum seal plastic bags and $850 cash, was a found in the car as well, said police.
Gilston was scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on May 23.
