Hong Kong Island demolished to make way for parking lot
The demolition of the former Hong Kong Island Chinese restaurant began this week, paving the way for the next door Water Wizz to offer more parking to patrons.
The construction should be done within the next two weeks, said Rebecca Kells, the general manager of the water park.
A parking lot with around 80 spots will mean Water Wizz has to rent fewer parking spaces from other nearby businesses.
Kells said there are no current plans to expand the water park itself, though internal work, such as adding new lawn furniture, has been done to prepare for the summer season.
Kells said Hong Kong Island, located at 3035 Cranberry Hwy, was ready to close its doors and be torn down.
“If you saw what that placed looked like inside, you would have been horrified,” Kells said.
Water Wizz opens for the season this Saturday.
