Wareham Youth Soccer’s grade seven girls team celebrated a South Coast Soccer League Championship recently after defeating Yarthmouth/Dennis 3-1.

The Wareham team ended the regular season in third place and went up against first place Yartmouth/Dennis after beating Falmouth in the semi-finals.

A crowd of more than 100 gathered, including some of the grade seven boys team. Wareham scored first and carried a lead midway through the first half when Yarthmouth/Dennis scored, tying the game. Wareham came out after the half with offensive pressure and Ryann Tripp scored for a 2-1 lead. While pressing, Wareham drew a foul inside the penalty area and was awarded a penalty shot. Olivia Powers buried the ball in the back of the net for a 3-1 lead.

Grade five boys team

The grade five boys team ended its season in fifth place with a 5-1-2 record. The team lost in the quarter finals against Dartmouth. Coaches offered congratulations to Daniel Maloney, Kyle Susko, Brodie Scott, Malachi Samuels, Tate Peterson, Ryan Elicier, Reilly Garber, Jackson Veugen, Cody Mazzoli, Leandro Withiam-Andrade, Kaeden Santos, Cole Berriault, Juan Sameja and Cameron Bourque.

Grade seven boys team

The grade seven boys team ended its season in third place with a 5-1-2 record. The team beat Falmouth in the semi-finals and lost to Seekonk in the finals. Coaches offered congratulations to Arman Araujo, Seasmus Braley, Ben Brogioli, Nate Conlon, Kevin DeCollibus, Aidan Fowler, Brody Garber, Nate Girard, Ryker King, Shane Mazzoli, Charlie Richards, Stephen Sprague, Luke Wiley, Nate Wiley and Ronald Yancey.

The grade seven girls team ended its season in third place with a 5-1-2 record. During the season, the team’s defense of Heather Cormier, Gwen Carpenter, Paige Bourgault, Olivia Powers, Evelyn Chase, Kelsi Tokarz and keeper Emma Bourgault gave up four goals in eight games shutting out five opponents. Midfielders Bella Thompson, Katelyn Tokarz, Mariyah Healy, Kathryn Young, Cailyse Blake, Olivia Hogan, Elisha Curran worked hard lending support to the defense and offensive attack. Forwards Riley Gomes and Ryann Tripp, along with the midfielders, combined for 24 goals.
