Introducing Wareham Week and Wareham Village Soup

Welcome from the Publisher

Jan 20, 2010

This may seem like a funny time to start a newspaper. We’re in the midst of a recession, and the overall newspaper industry is . . . well . . . challenged.

But Wareham Week is not just a newspaper. And we think this is a great time to be bringing 21st-Century, locally based, local media to Wareham and Onset!

Beginning today, Wareham Week and WarehamVillageSoup.com will strive to marry the best of the traditional community newspaper (local ownership, professional journalists who live in and understand the town, and advertising focused on the needs of the town’s businesses) with the best of the internet (interactivity, multi-media capability, immediate information, lots of links to more information).

You are holding the first issue of Wareham Week. It’s designed to be both informative and user friendly. Our professional journalists are committed to reporting that is accurate, fair, timely, clear, and interesting - accompanied by high-quality photographs and graphics.

Our website, WarehamVillageSoup.com, features breaking news produced by the Wareham Week staff, lots of multi-media features about the town, and offers from local businesses. WarehamVillageSoup encourages community involvement and interaction by giving members 24-hour access to post their own content and advertisements.

The staff lives in town, and we have an office at 219 Main Street. For more about who we are and what we are about, logo on to www.WarehamVillageSoup.com. And, please, let us know what you think!
