Dorothy Palingo, 73
Dorothy L. Palingo, formerly Dorothy Bell, 73, of Plymouth passed away July 12 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth surrounded by family.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Gertrude (Hartman) Palingo of South Boston and the late Frank Palingo. A longtime resident of Wareham, she has lived in Plymouth for the last 19 years.
Mrs. Palingo was a cashier for Shaw’s Supermarket in Cedarville and Wareham. She was a fierce bingo player at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Carver, loved the Red Sox and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Although, her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother; daughter, Laurie A. Gustafson and son-in-law Cullen of Plymouth; her son, Richard S. Bell of Revere; her sisters, Donna Farrell of Boston, Joan Brennan of Worcester and Faith Festa of Everett; her brother, John Brennan of Eustis, Florida; her grandchildren, Breanna and C.J. Gustafson of Plymouth, several nieces and nephews, and many long time friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Sunday, July 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m.
