Developer withdraws plans to expand industrial park

Sep 14, 2017

A Wareham developer has withdrawn a proposal that would have expanded the town’s industrial park with the addition of two, new buildings.

Dennis McCarthy had sought to extend Patterson Brook Road, located in the West Wareham industrial park off Cranberry Highway, by 250 feet. The extension would have accommodated a proposed 43,200 square foot building and a 50,400 square foot building. The larger building would have been designed to house six tenants and the smaller four tenants.

The Planning Board was scheduled to discuss the plans on Sept. 11 at a continued public hearing. At the start of the meeting, Chair George Barrett announced that the plans had been withdrawn.

It’s unclear at this time if the proposal will be resubmitted or if it was withdrawn completely. The developer was unavailable for comment.

According to McCarthy, the buildings would have been used mostly as warehouse space for light manufacturing and machine shops with some office space.
