Elizabeth B. (Baxter) Elliot, 88, of Wareham died Sept. 16 in Kindred Transitional Care at Forestview. She was the wife of the late William W. Elliot who died in 2011. Her first husband, Elmer W. Maxim, Jr. died in 1983.

She was born in Wareham and lived there for most of her life.

Mrs. Elliot graduated from Wareham High School.

Mrs. Elliot worked as a telephone operator for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren, bird watching and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 220.

Survivors include her sons, David Maxim of Wareham and Peter Maxim of Shamrock, Texas; her grandchildren, Elizabeth McDonald of Wareham, Angela Horan of Garnerville, New York, Susan Phillips of Ashburnham, David Maxim, Jr. of Abington, Erin Toth of Phoenix, Arizona, James Maxim of Wareham, William Maxim of Fall River and Angie Evans of Shamrock, Texas; 17 grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Peter Maxim, Jr. and sister of the late Ruth Perkins and Donald Baxter.

Her funeral and burial will be private.
