Grumpy's 5K Cranberry Harvest Race registration open for Nov. 4 event

Sep 29, 2017

Grumpy’s 5K Cranberry Harvest Race will return for its annual run/walk family event on Nov. 4 at 9 a.m.

The race honors Robert “Grumpy” Conway, a longtime A.D. Makepeace Company employee and nature photographer who passed away in 2010. Proceeds will benefit the Cranberry Educational Foundation’s Scholarship Fund.

The 5K winds along a trail through cranberry bogs of the A.D. Makepeace Company during harvest time. The race will begin in Tihonet Village, 150 Tihonet Road.

Register online at http://www.grumpy5k.racewire.com/ or at the advanced registration/number pick-up on Nov. 3 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or on the day of the race from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

Each registrant will receive a T-shirt and will be able to partake of a cranberry feast following the event, catered by Harriet’s of Marion. Cranberry-focused awards will be presented to winners in all age categories for both male and female participants. Grumpy’s nature-inspired photography will be on display during the post-race festivities.
