Donations sought for new reading program

Oct 2, 2017

The Friends of Wareham Free Library are partnering with the Dolly Parton Foundation’s Imagination Library, a worldwide initiative that has registered more than one million children in a program that provides one book mailed each month to the child’s home. These hardcover books are age appropriate and chosen by reading specialists.

The program is free to children up to 5 years old, who are residents of Wareham. The Friends are in the process of fundraising $25 per child per year, in order to begin registering children in November.

The Friends are asking for donations of $25 per child. Donation forms are available at the Main and Spinney Branch Libraries or donors can mail checks for one or more children made out to Friends of the WFL, P.O. Box 735, Wareham, MA 02571.

Registration for children and the Imagination Library Kickoff will take place at the Wareham Free Library on Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pitter Patter Puppets will perform at 11:30 a.m. Registration forms will be available at the libraries after Nov. 4.
