William E C Warr III, “Skip”, 77, of Wareham passed away at Tobey Hospital on Oc. 8 with his family at his side. Skip was the loving husband of Daryl (Bryans) Warr. He was born in New Bedford the son of the late William E.C. and Ellen (Jennings) Warr Jr.

Skip graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1962. Skip served in the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1962 to 1968. He served aboard the USS Salamonie and attained the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Skip served as the president of Warr's Marine, Inc., the family-owned business started in 1937 by his father William “Bud” Warr Jr. Skip was an avid hunter, fisherman and lover of animals, most notably the many dogs who were part of the Warr family throughout his life. He was an active community member in the Southcoast region, serving as the president of the Theodore H. Barth Foundation – Wareham Council, a past member of the Wareham Marine Resource Commission, a past board member of the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School and the American Boatbuilders Association, Inc.

He is survived by his children: Erin Warr Kivela and her husband Matthew of Summerfield, North Carolina, William Gardner Warr and his wife Monique Marie of Barnstead New Hampshire. He was the grandfather of William Ryan Warr and the brother of David J. Warr, Ph.D. of Wareham. He was the brother in-law of Douglas Bryans, DDS and friend Renate Macauley of Centerville and Donn Robin Bryans and Ellen Holm of Florida. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m., in the First Congregational Church of Wareham, 11 Gibbs Avenue, Wareham. A fellowship gathering will be held immediately following in the Groezinger Fellowship Room at the Church. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
