Robin J. Cambra, 67, of Wareham, formerly of Tiverton, died Oct. 9 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joseph Cambra & Lorraine (Jean) Cambra.

Robin was a well-known school teacher, guidance counselor, a licensed mental health counselor, and a licensed marriage and family therapist.

In his late teens and twenties, Robin was a high-ranking Boy Scout master. He attended Bridgewater State College and completed all the requirements in the masters clinical psychology program.

Robin worked in the Wareham Public Schools for over 20 years as a teacher and guidance counselor. He also served as guidance counselor at Tabor Academy. He managed a private practice for clinical therapy in Marion, and he also worked as a social worker every other weekend at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

Robin enjoyed visiting with friends, relaxing and watching the trains traveling on the railroad bridge at the Cape Cod canal, going out to dinner, watching television, singing spontaneously to a song on the radio, and going to Newport Grand. He claimed to be enamored by the sounds and sights of the med-flight helicopters.

He leaves his loving sister: Cheryl Cambra of Tiverton, Rhode Island. He was the brother of the late Shawn Cambra. Robin is also survived by his dear friends, Linda Sacco of Wareham, Michael Cheney of Dorchester, and Bob and Vicky Gomes of Tiverton, Rhode Island.

Robin will be dearly missed by friends, cousins, school colleagues, former students, clients, and the emergency room staff at Saint Luke’s Hospital.

His funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson St., Tiverton. Burial will follow in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m.
