Wareham Detectives searched a Gatehouse Drive apartment on Oct. 11 and arrested three people, finding illegal drugs and a hidden gun and ammunition, police said.

Louis Andrade, 46, of 223 Gatehouse Drive is facing a litany of weapon and drug charges following the search. Police said the search uncovered 9mm ammunition inside a sneaker and an unloaded 9mm handgun with an attached clip containing seven rounds inside the apartment’s air conditioning duct.

According to police, the search started after two women were arrested, 40-year-old Mellissa MacDonald of 223 Gatehouse Drive and 53-year-old Laura Alden of 27 Deseret Drive, Buzzards Bay.

MacDonald left the apartment prior to the search and met with Alden in a nearby parking lot. MacDonald, who had a warrant out for her arrest, was taken into custody. Police said she had a plastic bag containing what appeared to be crack cocaine.

Alden was then arrested and found to be holding heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Police then searched the apartment. Upon entering, police discovered plastic bags containing 16 grams of crack cocaine and 3 grams of heroin along with pills later identified as Oxycodone. A digital scale and plastic bags were also found in the apartment, police said.

The complete list of charges filed against Andrade, MacDonald and Alden follows. All three were scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on Oct. 12.
