If you have or know a child who would benefit from one free book a month, mailed to their home, now is the time to register with the Library Friends' Imagination Library Project. The only restrictions are that the child lives in Wareham and is between the ages of birth to 5 years old.

Registration forms are available at both libraries, the Main Library on Marion Road and the Spinney Branch Library in Onset. In addition, registration forms will be available at the Friends Holiday Fair on Saturday, December 2 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Reading to pre-school children helps them to become "reading ready" for kindergarten. It also increases vocabulary, and most importantly, instills a love of reading at an early age.

The Friends have always supported early childhood literacy, and they are now partners with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The Friends have been asking for  donations to sponsor a child for $25 for one year which is separate from the funds raised at book sales and other fundraisers. The Friends continue to raise funds through regular fundraisers in order to fulfill its $10,000 annual donation to the Library.
