Mary D’Angelo, 85

Mary L. (DiBacco) D’Angelo, 85, of Cape Coral, Florida, and Buzzards Bay, passed away on Nov. 14 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Anthony J. D’Angelo. They were married for 66 years.

Born and raised in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Vincenza (Santilli) DiBacco. She was a previous resident of Waltham before moving her family to Buzzards Bay.

Mrs. D’Angelo and her husband owned and operated Buttermilk Bay Lodge and Gift Shop for many years before retiring and moved to Florida in 1988. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, ceramics and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony J. D’Angelo; her children, Paul D’Angelo and his wife Cara of Buzzards Bay, Deborah Sala and her husband George of Sagamore Beach, Linda D’Angelo, Michael D’Angelo and David D’Angelo and his wife Lisa all of Buzzards Bay, and Karen Abrams and her husband William of W. Wareham; her siblings, Jean Dellinger of Leesburg, Florida, Carmela Ginnetti of Watertown and Joseph DiBacco of Littleton; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Anthony DiBacco and James DiBacco, and her grandchildren, the late Christopher Cannon, and the late Adrienne M. Ethier.

Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Rochester. Visiting hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
