Kick off the summer with an old-fashioned lobster boil to benefit the Spinney Memorial Library at Salerno’s in Onset on June 26 at 4 p.m.

Enjoy chowder, steamers, lobster, corn, and all the fixin’s. Catch up with friends, enjoy summer tunes, and bid on a variety of gift certificates and summertime must-haves in a Chinese auction.

Tours of the new Spinney Memorial Library will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., cocktails will be served from 4 to 5 p.m., with dinner immediately at Salerno’s.

Proceeds will benefit the Spinney grounds. Order forms will be available for engraved bricks to be installed at the new village library.

Can’t make the Salerno’s event but eager to see the Spinney Memorial Library? The Friends are opening the doors on Memorial Day weekend to give tours of the new facility. Stop by either Sunday or Monday, May 29 and 30, from noon to 3 pm. The library is located at 259 Onset Avenue. Donations of gently used books are welcome at that time.
