Harry M. Bello, 80, of Acushnet, died Dec. 18 at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven after a brief illness.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Coleman and Rose (Fishman) Bello. A practicing attorney for 40 plus years, Mr. Bello began his career as a Public Defender before becoming the Chief Assist. District Attorney for Bristol County District Courts. In 1978, he went into private practice with his brother, Leonard Bello.

Survivors include his brother, Leonard M. Bello of Sandwich, and Stephen J. Bello of Millis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of formal services, memorial hours will be observed at the home of Leonard Bello, 15 Buxus Shores Circle, Sandwich, MA on Wednesday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m.
