The Friends of the Wareham Veterans Council will hold its membership meeting on Jan. 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Multi-Service Center, located at 48 Marion Road.

All members and anyone interested in joining is encouraged to attend.

This is an opportunity for prior board members to discuss and hand over all materials and documents pertaining to this nonprofit group. Other agenda items include: the formation of audit and by-law committees, a look back at the past year, an open membership drive and discussion of future projects, such the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.

All area veteran organizations and community-minded organizations (American Legion, V.F.W., Knights of Columbus and Elks) are asked to have a representative present at this kick-off meeting.
