A former Wareham parks and cemetery foreman arrested on child pornography and other charges was sentenced to one year in prison, where he will serve 30 days with the remaining time suspended.

Frank Bergamasco, 67, was found guilty of sexual conduct for a fee in New Bedford District on Jan. 8, according to media reports. He was arrested in March 2014 by Wareham Police, stemming from an incident investigated by Dartmouth Police in November of that year.

He was initially charged with possession of child pornography, paying for sexual conduct with a child under 18 and sexual conduct for a fee. The child pornography charges were dismissed and the charge of paying for sexual conduct with a child under 18 was dropped by the prosecution.

The police report of the arrest is sealed and not available to the public or press. Dartmouth Police conducted the investigation.

Bergamasco no longer works for the Town of Wareham.
