Wareham Police Department donates $3000 to Southcoast Breast Center

Jan 30, 2018

On Jan. 23, Wareham Police Chief Kevin Walsh and School Resource Officer Karl Baptiste presented a donation of $3,000 to Southcoast Breast Center in Dartmouth.

The money came from proceeds from the sale of pink Wareham Police Department patches during October 2017. The Wareham Police Department participated in a nationwide initiative called “Pink Patch Project," involving the sale of individually designed pink police patches to bring awareness to the prevention of breast cancer and overall breast health in women and men.

Walsh praised the initiative, which was brought to his attention by Baptiste, who organized the participation of Wareham Police Department in this project.

“We were so proud to make this donation to the Southcoast Health Breast Center on behalf of the citizens who purchased the pink patches and the entire Wareham Police Department," Walsh said.
