Psychic Faire supports the future of community outreach programs

May 28, 2011

The future of several community education and outreach programs is looking bright. All  proceeds generated by the annual Holistic/Psychic Faire, held Saturday at the Wareham Elks Lodge, benefit community education and outreach programs.

Now in its tenth year, the event -- hosted by the First Spiritualist Church of Onset and  Wareham Emblem Club 99 -- drew a big crowd. The faire featured 29 astrologers, mediums, tea leaf readers, and clairvoyants, along with tarot readings, reiki, and energy healing.

"We help on a spirituality level," explained Pastor Kathleen Hoffman from the First Spiritualist Church. "Educate, enrich, empower. ... The readings bring comfort to people and it's a fundraiser to help the community."

The proceeds help support local scholarships, disaster relief efforts, Christmas food and toy drives, and more.
