Wareham's Dominic Mello sinks 41 points for career high

Wareham boys basketball guard Dominic Mello scored 41 points against Classical High School on Feb. 3. That marked the most points scored in a single game for any South Coast player this season and a career high for the sophomore.

With Mello’s help, the Vikings defeated Classical High School 83-69 at Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick. According to published reports, Mello scored 15 points in the first half and 26 points in the second half. Of those points, six were 3-point shots.

Wareham’s record going into the stretch before playoffs is 8-5. The team’s South Coast Conference record is 6-3. Tournament games will begin at the end of February.
