4 Wareham residents involved in Cranberry Highway crash

Four Wareham residents were involved in a head-on collision on Cranberry Highway Monday afternoon that ended with three people injured, according to Wareham Police.

The crash happened near the entrance of Garden Homes North mobile home park, located at 2833 Cranberry Highway, at approximately 4:30 p.m. and resulted in extensive damage to both cars.

Police said a 23-year-old Wareham resident was traveling south on Cranberry Highway with two passengers, a 58-year-old resident and a 21-year-old Wareham woman, when the driver apparently veered left into the northbound lane. The driver struck a car driven by a 27-year-old Wareham man.

The 27-year-old was taken to Tobey Hospital to be treated for a possible head injury. The 23-year-old driver of the car headed south was taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for head and chest injuries. The 21-year-old was taken to Tobey Hospital to be evaluated. The victims' identities are not being released.

Wareham and State Police closed that section of Cranberry Highway for approximately 30 minutes to clean up the scene.

Wareham Police are investigating the crash.
