Wareham Militia to host George Washington impersonator on April 27

Feb 21, 2018

The Wareham Militia will host George Washington impersonator Samuel Davis on April 27 at a free event open to the public. The event is set to start at 7 p.m. in the Wareham High School auditorium.

Davis is based in Pennsylvania and performs in character at schools, libraries and historic battlefields. At the event, three tickets will be raffled off for a dinner with Davis, who will be in character as Washington, at the Marion Music Hall. The menu will feature colonial-era recipes and entrees that include elk, venison, roast beef and a fruit cake recipe from Martha Washington’s own cookbook.

Claire Smith, a member of the Wareham Militia, said Davis is a dedicated impersonator and the event will be an eye-opening experience for anyone with an interest in history.

“He is truly and uniquely a person who lives as George Washington in his mind,” said Smith.
