May 6, 2018

Diane A. (DiRenzo) VanFleet, 70, of Wareham, died May 1 at Wareham Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Loretta (Cortese) DiRenzo.

She was born in Middletown, New York and lived in Wareham for 28 years. She graduated from Middletown Beauty School, ultimately beginning the start of a very successful and illustrious career in cosmetology. She spent many years working for JoAnne's Beauty Shop in Middletown, New York before embarking on her very own business venture.  Upon moving to Massachusetts in 1983, she remained in the field and worked for Gregory Beauty Supply in Warwick, Rhode Island as a sales consultant when she heard the calling to open her own business once again. It was then, in 1989, she owned and operated Hair Reflections on Main Street in Hyannis where she continued to work her “magic” for over 20 years before closing in 2012.

Diane had the ability to attract all people and the gift of making friends with everyone. She was kind, caring, and a gentle woman with an infectious smile and her presence could just silence a room.

She was a member of the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks. She was a self-proclaimed golfer. She enjoyed cooking, making people laugh, spending time with her family and friends, but most importantly, Diane just simply loved living life to its fullest.
